摘要

Treated with protease alone, only a little anti-felting effect can be found on wool knotted fabrics. With a pretreatment of hydrogen peroxide, the most of proteases under testing still can not give ideal machine washable wool. Among the proteases selected in this paper, the protease SZ is the only one which can be used to produce good machine washable wool by Perzym process. It is also the only one that has an ability in hydrolyzing the epicuticle catalyticly and then further digesting the cuticle of wool. The pretreatment of hydrogen peroxide is necessary for protease SZ to offer wool fibers expected washability.
