Quality of Sintered Metal Rods as a Function of the Size and Capacity of the Screw Extruders Used

The pressure distributors in screw extruders of different sizes are measured and compared for the same nozzle diameters and the same plastified carbide powder. Furthermore, the performance of different extruders is raised until quality problems occur with the sintered carbide rods extruded. The different results of the various extruders are then evaluated. Measures are presented to avoid negative quality effects as much as possible, whereby the influence of different extruder sizes is considered with completely identical sintered carbide products.
