In the paper the application of the boundary element method for numerical modelling of heat transfer processes proceeding in domain of continuous casting mould are presented. In particular, the way of temperature field computations for different technological and geometrical conditions is discussed. The problem can be treated doubly. In undisturbed conditions of the continuous casting process, in domain of continuous casting mould the pseudo-steady thermal state is generated, and then the adequate mathematical model is constructed on the basis of equations describing the steady state heat transfer. More generalized approach consists in the treatment of the process as a non-steady one. In order to show the possibilities of the BEM applications in the modelling of heat transfer processes the steady state and non-steady state models are taken into account. In the final part of the paper the examples of numerical simulations are presented.
