Traffic structure as part of the urban scenography and strategy for our urban environment

Car traffic is a vital and crucial element of the scenography of the modern city. Movement and tempo have become symbols of vitality and open possibilities. But, the influence of the car on the citizens daily environment is unfortunate. Copenhagen has chosen an alternative traffic development focusing at an environmental traffic management. The new urban development named the "Orestad" will be a show case for these alternative strategies.
