1. The conducted analysis of the social and psychological sources of the Chernobyl accident shows that it was inevitable. 2. The social source of the accident is the command-administrative system in the branch, which makes decisions without tolerating any criticism. 3. The psychological cause, predetermining the accident, arose from the arrogant statement of the RBMK designers that RBMK will be as reliable as the reactor for military Pu production, but it was not. The information used in this report was obtained from the author from the participants in the events.
