Structural relationship types in static object models built according to UML are association and aggregation. Because aggregation is known to have no accurate semantics, a trend is to propose in a given object modeling language several aggregation patterns. However, conventional aggregation and composition in UML aren't sufficient because other aggregation semantics resulting from domain-specific requirements, are needed. In that connection, an object-oriented framework called cOlOr allows to properly deal with common and special structural relationships.
