REFRACTORY GOLD ORE TREATMENT BY FLUIDIZED BED ROASTING FOR BARRICK GOLDSTRIKE

Construction of Goldstrike's dry grinding and roasting facility started in October 1998. Commissioning and start-up of the crushing, neutralization, thickening and CIL circuits is expected to begin in October 1999. The commissioning of he first dry grinding, roasting and gas handling circuits is expected to start in January 2000 and production beginning in March 2000. The second dry mill and roaster will start-up in May 2000.
