The use of polarized x-ray beams provides drastic reduction of background connected with Compton scattering from the sample under investigation. In conventional x-ray tubes with isotropic distribution of x rays, the intensity of polarized beam after polarizer is very small. We have carried out the experiment with Kumakhov lens and Barcla polarizer to receive intense x-ray polarized beams. X-ray fluorescent spectra are observed by exciting a sample with both: polarized and unpolarized beams. A significant reduction in magnitude of the scattering radiation was observed with Kumakhov lens and Barcla polarizer.
