Pilot seed production studies of Stylosanthes guianensis CIAI 184 in the Northern Philippines

The Stylosanthes guianensis cultivar CIAT 184 (Stylo 184) is widely adapted throughout the humid tropics of Southeast Asia and has proved to be a useful forage for livestock. [n common with most other forage legumes, it needs to be propagated from seed. As smallholder farmers need ready access to a supply of seed, it is desirable for seed production areas to be within easy reach of farming communities. This paper reports pilot studies on seed production in northern Luzon. the Philippines.
