Structured modeling and simulation of power process generation

GEC ALSTHOM has recently delivered single shaft combined cycle power plants. A simulation study has been done to check the correct dynamic behavior of this new product. The design of such a model demands large competences and could only be possible with a strong structured method. The acquired knowledge during this first step, allows the build up of hardware in the loop simulators, to verify that control algorithms implemented in regulators fulfill the specifications. To ensure the industrial return of investment of this development whilst allowing the modeling of very different power plant configurations, this new tool requires a lot of user friendliness and high reliability.
