摘要

A framework for reasoning with both absolute and relative orders of magnitude together is developed in this paper. Three binary relations in R, closely related with Qualitative Orders of Magnitude Algebras, which are built from specific partitions of the real line, are presented. The three relations formalize the ideas of "having the same order of magnitude", "negligibility" and "being close", in terms of qualitative labels. The study of the properties of these relations has allowed to construct a system of inference rules, compatible with the qualitative labels language, and constitutes a new mixed model between absolute and relative orders of magnitude.
