Formal risk management programs have become a fundamental approach for process safety (1,2,3).Extending beyond the traditional concepts of loss prevention,risk management applications are expanding to encompass environmentla protection,reliability,and other business risks.Both government regulatory approaches and fundamental business processes in an increasingly competitive global business environment have driven this movement.
