Materials Applications in Automotive Components: An Overview

摘要

The development of advanced materials for automotive components is driven by a number of factors, including quality and reliability, weight and cost, and environmental concerns. In this paper, recent developments in advanced materials for automotive components are reviewed, and future directions are outlined. Computer application in materials and component manufacturing, corrosion and protection for automotive components, and materials analysis and reliability, are discussed. It is believed that breakthroughs in new materials development as well as innovative use of existing materials will continue to offer new opportunities for the automotive industry.
