Apparatus of testing of the loss of metallic cross-section area of wire ropes

Wire ropes must be inspected by comprehensive nondestructive testing techniques because they play a critical role in the industrial safety Despite the successfully inspection for broken wires research on the loss of metallic cross-section area(LMA) is not filly developed Anew method for testing of the LMA based on bridge magnetic circuit is proposed in this paper Since principles of magnetic nondestructive testing are employed the testing results are not affected by drilling mud or other non-magnetic materials and the inner LMA is equivalently detected with the outer LMA.
