Ginkgo biloba L. is a multi-funcitional and multi-purpose tree specise for cash or ornament,which has very high economic value.Its multiplication is traditionally carried out by seeding,root-shooting,cutting and grafting.Leaves or leaf fascicles are taken as cutting.Since the tree leaf,a nutritive organ for photosynthesis,has no stem,no root,no bud,and imperfect organs,seedling raising through leaf cutting is generally difficult.In this study,leaves were firstly treated with HL_1 root-promoting agent,and then inserted into the sandy bed of specially prepared cutting shed.Afterward,suitable envi onmental conditions of 25 approx 31 deg C in temperature,90
