How industrial gases enable iron and steel makers to reach efficient use of energy and high productivity with low environmntal impact

Iron and steel makers increase their use of industrial gases and several new gas applications have been taken into regular use during the last decades. The result is improvementsin productivity, product quality, cost and energy savings, and is imporvements in productivity, product qualtiy, cost and energy savings, and improved environment, all necessary for competitive steel production. This is made possible by the development of more efficient and flexible gas production methods together with considerable efforts on development of the new gas applicatios, ranging from small practical solutions to entire new processes for ironmaking.
