The Practice of Pulverized Coal Injection on New No.1 Blast Furnace at Shougang

PCI rate had ever attained over 200kg/THM on old No.1 BF (useful inner volume 57m~3) at Shougang in 1966. The useful inner volume of the BF has increased to 253m~3 after the enlargement renovation in 1994. Owing to the poor quality of raw materials, low blast temperature and without oxygen enrichment, the PCI rate of this BF decreased sharply. By efforts, PCi rate restored gradually to 128.5kg/THM, and coke rate decreased from 500kg/THM to 405kg/THM.
