ADVANCED CMM AT SANDIA-LIVERMORE°

摘要

Sandia National Laboratories at Livermore has acquired a new Moore M-48V CNC five-axis universal coordinate measuring machine. Site preparation, acceptance testing, and initial performance results are discussed. Unique features of the machine include a ceramic ram and vacuum evacuated laser paths (VELPS). The implementation of a VELPS system on the machine imposed certain design requirements and entailed certain start up problems. The machine's projected capabilities, workload, and research possibilities are outlined.
