SEMI-AUTOMATED CALIBRATION OF HIGH ACCURACY AC CALIBRATORS

Calibration of today's high accuracy ac calibrators requires the use of characterized TVC's (Thermal Voltage Converters) in order to achieve an adequate test uncertainty ratio. This calibration method is a slow and tedious task requiring the calibration technician to take into account the assigned AC/DC difference of the TVC's in order to determine the UUT error. This paper discusses the equipment, software and process taken to automate the calibration of these high accuracy ac calibrators. This automated calibration process uses hardware and software, available on the market today, to speed up this calibration process and assure an accurate calibration (AC/DC difference) of the UUT.
