Calculation of Density of Water Using Recent Redeterminations of Water Density

Recent redeterminations of the density of water have been made by Patterson and Morris of the Australian CSIRO National Measurement Laboratory, Watanabe of the National Research Laboratory of Metrology of Japan, and Takenaka and Masui of the National Research Laboratory of Japan. In the present work, corrections for change in density of water with air saturation, compressibility, and isotopic concentrations have been made to equations developed using the recent data. The corrected Patterson and Morris equation for calculation of water density is considered to supersede, or succeed the work of Kell at the National Research Council of Canada.
