ISO CLEANROOM STANDARDS UPDATE

A family of ten international cleanroom standards are being written by ISO/TC 209 Technical Committee. These standards cover topics such as cleanliness classes, testing procedures, cleanroom operations, biocontamination control, mini-environments/isolators, etc. The family of standards has a target completion date of December, 1999. The first standard in the family to be completed, Classification of air cleanliness, ISO/FDIS 14644 Part 1, will be compared with FED-STD-209E to highlight their similarities and differences.
