LABORATORY OUT YEAR PLAN FOR ELECTRICAL STANDARDS

This paper outlines the out year objectives for the electrical standards section of the Navy Primary Standards Laboratory electromagnetics areas. It describes how the laboratory must adjust to support future Navy measurement requirements during an era of continued downsizing, budget cuts and technology improvements. It is possible to provide increased customer service, improved measurement quality, and tighter uncertainties through proper use of increased automation, the world wide web, and the application of a quality system such as outlined in NAVLAP and the ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 documents. Measurement areas discussed will include DC/low frequency, Microwave, Electro-optics and Magnetics.
