BENEFITS THROUGH IMPLEMENTING ISO/IEC GUIDE 25 UNDER TQM UMBRELLA

Electronics Test & Development Centre (ETDC), Madras started implementation of its quality system as per ISO / IEC Guide 25, following Total Quality Management (TQM) principles, in the year 1992. This has resulted in continual improvement of quality, productivity and economic performance. TQM concepts are continually imbibed through seminars and training of the employees. Other initiatives are computing quality metrics, statistical analysis of schedules for completion of jobs etc. Regular feedback is given to the employees for further improvement. Due to these strategies, although the journey towards TQM is never ending, the centre has been accredited to the prestigious National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories (NABL) of India for testing and calibration. The most important benefit is the recognition by industries all over the country and even abroad about the quality of services of the Centre and thereby building up the credibility and reputation of the Centre.
