MODELLING OF AGGREGATION IN CRYSTALLIZATION USING POPULATION BALANCE

From the fit against the experimental data, and the behaviour of the kernels, it could be concluded that either the kernels (or even the general form of them) used for modelling of aggregation were not correct, or that particle break-up has to be taken into account in the modelling of reactive gypsum crystallization. Further research is necessary to validate the aggregation parameters and the suitability of the kernel for determining the mechanisms of gypsum precipitation.
