Bombardier Prorail are now well into the refurbishment of London Underground's Piccadilly fleet of Trains. This refurbishment is part of the ongoing upgrade of London Underground System and is the most extensive to date. This paper summarises the background to the refurbishment programme, the selection process of the original contractor, the work content and the solution developed. A key feature of this work programme has been the partnership between Piccadilly Line Project Team and Bombardier since the transfer of the work from RFS Doncaster to Bombardier during 1994.
