This section contains nine papers related to design analysis of pressure vessel are exchanger components, The papers will be presented in two sessions. In the first session, Porter, Martens and Marcal present a practical review of the use of PC based finite element analysis of typical pressure vessel components including suggested modeling parameters, convergence procedures and element evalaution. Charles Becht IV presents his work to evalaute the plastic strain concentration in bellows; which indicates that the bellows geometry, associated strain concentration, and magnitude of the displacement loading have a significant effect on the fatigue life. Antalffry, Malek, Pfeifer, Stewart, Grimsley and Shockley present their paper on innovations in delayed coking coke drum design which addresses a newly developed circumferential weld seam technique and the selection of corrosion resistant interior cladding materials. Massey, Martens. Hsieh and Van Riet prsent the results of finite element investigations of several nozzle/shell junctions subjected to external loads and relate these results with respect to WRC 107 stress investigation acceptance criteria results as they attempt to develop standard nozzle loading criteria.
