Work summarized here covers three broad areas: I. Theoretical results and algorithmic developments regarding a specific subset of the performance evaluation and control decisions needed in the proposed distributed approach to production management. EL Software implementation of algorithms and development of a software architecture that facilitates the interoperation of multiple decision support programs. This interoperation allows distributed decision entities to collaborate at the manufacturing site and promote the goal of enterprise integration through concurrent production planning and control. III. Industrial collaboration arid research deployment at a number of manufacturing sites, including General Electric, Analog Devices, and AT&T.
