Block copolymers have received great attention due to its uniqueself-assembled domains of lamellae, cylinders and spheres.'-2 Over thelast few decades, block copolymer thin films have been studied as-alternative non-lithographic tools for nano-scale patterning, which canbe applicable to nano-electronics,3 biological assay,4 or high-densitystorage.5 Key to the use of block copolymers for such applications isControlling the orientation and lateral order of the microdomains in thinfilms. For instance, the preference of substrate surface to block;,copolymer and the gap between two substrates are dominant factorsdetermining the orientation of lamellar structures.
