In view of the global energy shortage and rising oil price, solar energy has received tremendous recent attention as a renewable, abundant, and potentially clean energy source. Conversion of solar energy into electricity using organic materials-based photovoltaic (OPV) devices is among several promising choices. The most noted advantage of OPV device is the low cost associated with materials production and device fabrication. However, the energy conversion efficiency of OPV devices is currently the lowest among all options
