Current Trends and Future Prospects of Traditional Chinese Medicines in the 21st Century

摘要

Current well-marketed and non-patented traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) products are good candidates for new drug development. Clarification of bioactive components and functional mechanisms of TCM is a basis to reach this goal. To face the challenge of foreign companies, and to modernize and globalize the traditional medicines, high-tech R&D has to be applied in the Chinese pharmaceutical industry.
