Conventional vibraiton shakers have bene developed to meet the needs of labroatory aplciations and as usch are not directly uitable use as vibratory force generators for mahcinery aplciatiosn.This paper summarizes the aprticular rquriements palced on the designer of force genratros for a number fo inductrial and transportaiton aplciatiosn.The paper describes a ocmpact force generator of novel design which is aimed to meet the needs of theses applciations.
