HEXAMETHYLENETETRAMINE SUBERATE, AN ORGANIC COMPOUND WITH A STRONG ANHARMONIC MODULATION

The complex formed by hexamethylenetetramine and suberic acid presents an incommensurate phase stable over a large range of temperatures. The two main features of this structure are a highly anharmonic modulation and a breakdown of the basic structure concept. A strategy of refinement and a structural model are presented. Useful tools, now included in the program MSR, have been developed in order to refine similar structures.
