摘要

The existence of a basic structure common to the Al-Cu-Co, Al-Ni-Co and Al-Ni-Fe decagonal phases is argued. The real compositions of the decagonal phases can be obtained from a basic binary composition by the replacement of atoms and formation of vacancies. This results in several peculiarities of observed electron diffraction patterns due to the variations of the structure factor.
