OBJECT MODELLING TECHNIQUES AND KNOWLEDGE REPRESENTATION IN CROP MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Since 1991 Agricultural Telematics Centre (ATC), together with branch organisations, has been working on the development of Crop Management System (CMS); decision support systems which help farmers in crop management. At this moment CMS are available for sugarbeats, cereals, cauliflower and Brussels Sprout. With new techniques like Object Orientation and using databases for the representation of the knowledge, the maintenance of CMS become easy. These new techniques are dicussed in this paper.
