This paper presents a simulation method of temperature control for transient heat conduction fields. The temperature control problem under consideration is such that the boundary conditions on a part of the boundary should be determined to realize prescribed requirements of response on the other boundary. In the simulation, we use the inverse analysis method for estimating unknowns by using the boundary element method combined with the extended Kalman filter algorithm. The boundary element analysis is used to calculate the temperature responses, while the Kalman filter algorithm is applied to determine the unknown control parameters by minimizing the error between the target value and the temperature responses. Computer simulation is carried out for sample problem to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.
