Messengers constitute a new methodology for network-based operations. This paper investigates the use of messengers as a platform for hypertext generation over the World Wide Web (WWW). A messenger is a program that is executable on any computer on a network that provides the executing environment. There are two main WWW protocols, the hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) and the hypertext markup language (HTML). HTTP describes the protocol for the transfer of HTML (and other) documents from servers to the client browsers, while HTML describes the way to mark a hypertext document to achieve the desired display on the browsers screen.
