Laser-pumped Yb:Er:glass laser

There is a growing need for compact efficient and eye-safe lasers. Diode pumping is normally used to produce compact and efficient lasers when the required pumping wavelength and power are available. This paper presents the characteristics of an eye- safe Yb:Er:glass laser at 1.54 $mu@m pumped by a Ti:Sapphire laser tuned between 905 and 980 nm.
