The multichannel ALOHA system is a generalization of the single channcl ALOHA system.It is believed to be a good candidate for the data protocol in hybrid voice/data systems.In this paper,we will investigate the performance of the multichanncl ALOHA system in the microcellular environment,accounting for channcl impairment and the capture effect.It is found that interactions exist in the performance evaluation of the physical layer and the data link layer.An iterative method is proposed to evaluate the system performance numerically.The stability of this multicell,multichannel ALOHA system is studied using the total delay instead of the retransmission delay as the criterion.
