摘要

A brief description of 4-dimensional (4-D) filtered backprojection image reconstruction algorithm that has been developed for use in spectral-spatial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is presented. The algorithm uses three successive stages of 2-D filtered backprojection to reconstruct a 4-D image. This approach results in a reduction in computational time on the order of N$+2$/ relative to the single-stage technique, where N$+4$/ is the number of hypervoxels in the image. Design of digital filters used to filter projections is discussed. Images obtained from simulated data are presented to illustrate the accuracy and potential utility of the technique.
