In recent years it is of worldwide interest in developing new smelting reduction processes for iron making with the possibility of working without an iron ore preparation and of allowing the use of different forms of energies. Due to the ideal prereduction and the elimination of the need to agglomerate iron ore, the fluidized bed can be advantageously used for prereduction of the iron ore. The elimination of sticking problem in a fluidized bed was investigated by the controlling of the degree of prereduction. Another part of this experiment dealt with the problem of the different precipitation morphology of iron during the reduction. In the systematic tests the influence of CaO, SiO_2, sintering temperature and sintering period on the change of iron morphology was examined.
