By using the system simulation method, a common program software has been developed for the smelting reduction process of fluidized bed prereduction of iron ore followed by final smelting reduction in a molten iron bath. Several process indexes, such as energy consumption and its utilization, coal and oxygen consumption, as well as heat efficiency in the molten iron bath have been contrasted and analyzed for two different cases considered: 1, low prereduction degree (PRD: 25-35 percent) and high post combustion ratio (PCR: 55-85 percent), 2, high PRD (55-75 percent) and low PCR (5-20 percent). The influence of different PCR and PRD on system feasibility and process indexes has also been investigated.
