HF ground wave radar technique for large area mapping of surface current and directional wave spectrum

The author describes the radar techniques which are in use to fulfil respectively the sea surface current mapping and sea wave measurement requirements. He also reviews the different classes of HF radar used for current mapping and wave analysis and their features.
