In this study, Hyaluronan-Chitosan (HA/Cs) gel was fabricated by hydrogel method. The aim of the research is to modify the structure of HA molecules into Aldehyde Hyaluronic acid (AHA) and associate it with a second modified biopolymer, N,0-Carboxymethyl Chitosan (NOCC) without using a crosslinker to create a biocompatible hydrogel that can be used as a bio glue for many tissue engineering applications, such as: post-operative peritoneal adhesions, cartilage tissue engineering, osteoarthrosis therapy, surgical adhesive, etc. AHA-NOCC hydrogels have been characterized using FITR spectroscopy to confirm the substitutions of carboxymethyl groups on the amino and hydroxyl sites of NOCC and aldehyde groups in AHA. The hydrogels were expected to meet the requirement of bioglue for future application.
