In the past few decades research on Aluminium composites has been increased due to the requirement of high strength, high performance and good quality material. In the present investigation effect of different wt% of SiC on the Al 6061 has been studied. Two different composites were produced with 2.5 wt% of SiC and 10 wt% of SiC with Al 6061 were processed through Stir casting. Hardness, Tensile and Wear tests were performed to study the effect of SiC on Al 6061. It was found that, hardness of the composite has been increased due to the presence of stronger and stiffer reinforcement. Increase in the percentage of SiC significantly increases the Tensile and Wear properties.
