BMW i offers the most convincing and resource efficient concept for e-mobility. CFRP and Life-/Drive Module concept provides opportunities for purpose built lightweight solutions (solution for e-mobility to compensate the battery weight). The excellent stiffness properties of CFRP and the position of the HV-battery in the center of the Drive Module are key to meet the high safety requirements. CFRP is recyclable and a prerequisite for the acceptance of the material in our society. BMW i takes worldwide care of a nearly complete recovery process, if a BMW i becomes an End of Live Vehicle and it was returned to BMW i dealer. Further efforts necessary to establish a competitive market for recycled CFRP.
