摘要

Introduction: Memorix of anatomy is a modern, didactic book that systematically summarizesinformation from general, special and topographic anatomy. Individual chapters of the book describethe structure, division and function of particular organs and systems. A large amount of schematicillustrations (1500 in number) supplements the text. In addition to the required information, in eachchapter the matters of interest, mnemonics and detailed information are listed. The book also presentsinformation from clinical medicine in order to help students to understand a clinical-anatomical contextbetter. In each chapter conclusions are formed by interactive tables, charts and questions withschematic pictures for effective revision. The structure of chapters is based on a unique/originallearning Memorix educational system which has been created in the cooperation with psychologistsand andragogists.Memorix educational system: 1. Structure - helps to orientate quickly in the topic;;2. Main idea - clear, information is structured from the basic to more detailed (step-by-step method);;3. Interesting thingsand clinical notes are designed to help the learning and creating the correlations with clinics;;4.Schemes and charts created for effective revision;;5. Presenting the learnt information -demonstration and discussion in groups have retention rates of information of more than 50%;;6.Questions and pictures for revision - the last step (all questions including the correct answers andnumber of pages where correct answers are stated)Memorix team is formed by eight main authors, three illustrators, two main book reviewers and dozensof clinical, preclinical and student reviewers. Noteworthy is the fact that one of two principle authors isRadovan Hudak - a medical student at 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Thesecond one is an associate professor - David Kachlik, MD, Ph.D. a clinical anatomist at 3rd Faculty ofMedicine, Charles University in Prague. Along with them, the book was created by a number ofanatomists, talented students and experienced clinicians which contributes to the high quality and upto-dateness of the text. Recently, the English translation, bilingual terminology electronic applications(English/Latin) and flashcards for smart phones and tablets are being intensively prepared. Conclusion: Simplicity and comprehensibility of the book are general keys for successful studying andpassing the exam in anatomy.
