摘要

The article is based on the PRIMETECH project (2016-1-DE03-KA201-023041), funded by European Commission under the Erasmus + programme. The project addresses primary school teachers’ needs related to the demands for ICT (Information and Communication Technology) skills and competences imposed by the unprecedented development of the digital revolution. It summaries the project’s research analysis of the current situation highlighting the Romanian national strategies, policies and programmes, which aim to increase the use of advanced technology at all levels of education, the existing experiences with ICT as a school subject in primary schools as well as teachers’ training on improving their digital competences. In addition, the problems, obstacles and achievements encountered in the implementation of ICT in primary education are discussed. The article also focuses on the project’s objectives, target groups and main output (the online course), which has been designed to meet the primary school teachers’ ICT needs as revealed by the research.
