By entering the European Union, Slovakia became a part of it not only from the geographical perspective. The quality of higher education is no longer judged only from our - internal perspective, but also from the European perspective, to say the least. The Slovakian educational system is in comparison against the European average rather financially undersized, which indicates that Slovakia has not got the greatest potential of growth of the quality of higher education. From the countries of the Visegrad Four (V4), Slovakia has got no University which would qualify as one of the best worldwide and there is also a lack of interest in undertaking higher education in Slovakia from students from abroad. When comparing with the countries of V4, we can observe a significant lack of mobility of students. In Czech Republic the mobility of students represents only one third of its value in Slovakia, regardless the fact there is a higher number of students. This fact can be the prove of the quality of higher education as students feel the need to seek after a better quality educational institution abroad. Higher mobility of university students could possibly enhance the flow of expertise from abroad as well as contribute to the improvement of higher education in Slovakia. Taking into consideration the above, in the following part of this paper the authors present some outcomes of international monitoring. The goal of this international monitoring was to map the current situation and perspectives of Information Technology studies at higher education in selected economic and leadership curricula profiling. The research was aimed broadly so that the results provide the exact platform of outcomes for complete innovation, respectively modification of the informatics preparation of students engaged in the said study profiling at our colleges and universities.
