Product Service System (PSS) is a service-dominated manufacturing paradigm providing integrated product and service that delivers value in use. The typical category of PSS is result-oriented PSS which in fact the only true 'need oriented' one. The result-oriented PSS can be seen as a special service process in nature. Introducing the process modularization idea to configure the result-oriented PSS contributes to the better personalized service experience. Design Structure Matrix (DSM) is a common method of module planning. However, the traditional DSM is a binary Boolean matrix which can hardly describe the qualitative dependencies among activities. Fuzzy Design Structure Matrix (FDSM) is used to describe the dependency relationships among activities. The weighted directed graph is used to represent the relationships among activities in the service process, and it is transferred into FDSM and then the fuzzy equivalent matrix is obtained by the transition closure method. The corresponding activities are clustered according to the truncated matrix after setting the optional threshold. Finally, all the alternative clustering results are screened. The temperature service based on air conditioning is taken as an example to verify the practicability of the proposed method.
