The paper is concerned with two models of an asynchronous machine (a PQ model and an RX model) in the state estimation problems. When using the PQ model, the values of active power injection at a node is calculated as a sum of active power flows in the lines connected to this node. With the RX model, the value of injection is calculated through the voltage magnitude and generator slip. The study is focused on the problem of observability in electric power system state estimation depending on the asynchronous machine model selected.
